Ride Gilroy Gardens May 18th 2023, 5PM - 8PM!
Gilroy is all in for the Silicon Valley's Bike to anywhere day on May 18 with 3 Energizer Stations and a free ride at Gilroy Gardens.
Gilroy is all in for Mays Bike to Wherever days on May 18! Starting at 5AM Gilroy City Councilman Zach Hilton will host an Energizer Station at the transportation hub greeting commuters, serving coffee and handing out messenger bags to pledge-to-ride commuters. Staring at 6:45 AM the Gilroy Parks and Recreation Commission will host a station at Miller Avenue and Uvas Park Drive on the levee (Christmas Hill Park). Epicenter Cycling will be handing out messenger bags at the Outlets for 10AM to 6 PM. And to conclude the day, The City of Gilroy will host the Third Annual Ride the Gardens event for 5PM to 8PM where families and riders of all ages can ride around Gilroy Gardens, free of charge.

The City of Gilroy and Gilroy Gardens is happy to host the Third Annual Ride the Gardens event on May 18, 5:00 PM. Tickets are free of charge but participants must register to ride. Load up those bicycles, push scooters and the family to enjoy Gilroy’s horticulture and family showcase on two wheels. The only rides operating will the ones you power. All riders of bicycles and scooters are welcome!
By registering to ride you will receive a free Bike to Wherever Messenger Bag at the event. Expect to see many of your neighborhood friends. Gilroy's Mayor Marie Blankley will be there to greet everyone and ride around as well.

Helmets must be worn while riding.
This event is limited to 500 people and all participants must bring their eventbrite ticket. Whether you bike every day or once every couple of months - to work, to school, to the farmer’s market, to the library - you’re invited to join thousands in celebration of the humble bicycle. May is Bike Month, and you, your friends, and your family are welcome to ride with us on May 18, 19 and 20 for Bike to Wherever Days. Will you pledge to ride?
When you pledge to ride, you can get a free Bike to Wherever Days 2023 tote bag on the days of the event (if you get to a station before they run out) and you will be entered into a random drawing for prizes as well. You’ll also be kept in the loop about Energizer Stations in your neighborhood and SVBC's Bike Bash celebration taking place in your county!
Riders at any skill and age are welcome. Just by biking, you’ll be helping SVBC on its mission to build healthier and more just communities. We want as many people as possible to take the pledge and to ride. Whether you're pledging to bicycle to work, run a quick errand, or take a trip to wherever on just one day or every day of month – every bike makes a difference. Getting friends and family to pledge as well will maximize both your impact and the amount of fun we can all have together!
To Pledge to Ride and get your FREE Bike to Wherever Day Bag as well as win prizes:
1) Complete this Pledge to Ride registration (Pledging is free, donations are optional but welcome!). The deadline is by end of day May 20!
2) On Thursday May 18, Friday May 19, or Saturday May 20:
- Bike to an Energizer Station location in San Mateo or Santa Clara counties.
- Show your Eventbrite ticket on your phone or on paper
- Pickup your FREE BTWD Bag and other goodies !
Note that bag quantities are limited and some Energizer Stations may run out, so get on your bike early.
