SOUTH BAY, CA -- A Soledad man was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide after firing on two motorists, injuring one, in a road rage incident in Morgan Hill early Saturday morning, police said.

As the vehicles drove north on Monterey Road, police say Monzon brandished a handgun at two men in another vehicle, following them to Vineyard Boulevard and La Crosse Drive. The suspect got out of his car and fired at the passenger side of the other vehicle, police said.
As the victim made a U-turn, the suspect fired more rounds into the driver's side of the car, hitting the victim in the lower left leg, police said.

The victim drove to the parking lot of a Safeway at 235 Tennant Ave. and called 911. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening, police said. The other passenger wasn't hurt.
Police say they found the suspect's vehicle near where the shooting happened and that officers found the vehicle's owner and learned that Monzon might have been driving the vehicle.
Meanwhile, dispatchers learned there was a $4.9 million Monterey County warrant for Monzon's arrest for attempted homicide, police said.
Police found Monzon hiding in a home on John Wilson Way in Morgan Hill after a search with help from a Gilroy police canine officer and Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies and a sheriff's helicopter.
Monzon was taken into custody without a struggle and was booked into jail, police said.
