Suspected Prostitute Pleads Not Guilty in Case Against Accused Pimp

The San Jose woman was arrested on a warrant in Los Angeles Thursday.

An alleged prostitute pleaded not guilty Monday in connection with a case against her accused pimp, who is charged with raping a 15-year-old girl and forcing her into prostitution.

Jocelyn Contreras Alvarez, 20, of San Jose, was arrested Thursday on a warrant filed March 8 that charges her with conspiracy, criminal threats, human trafficking of a minor, pandering a minor younger than 16, dissuading a witness by force, pimping a prostitute younger than 16 and child abuse and endangerment, all felonies, according to court records.

Ariel Guizar, 35, was charged Feb. 17 along with co-defendant Araceli Mendoza Alvarez, 23, both of San Jose. Araceli Alvarez is no relation to Jocelyn Alvarez, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

Guizar is accused of pimping the 15-year-old and three other adult prostitutes, according to Deputy District Attorney Bryan Clavecilla. The co-defendants were accused of helping him.

The defendants met the girl in Los Angeles County in February and brought her to Orange County to work as a prostitute, Clavecilla alleged. Araceli Alvarez is accused of helping the girl learn the ropes, according to the prosecutor.

Guizar and Araceli Alvarez are also accused of giving methamphetamine to the girl, who was allegedly raped and sodomized by Guizar, Clavecilla said.

Guizar, who is the caretaker to a 4-month-old, also faces a misdemeanor charge of child endangerment for allegedly using methamphetamine in a hotel room where they were staying, Clavecilla said.

The girl's family called police to report concerns about her, leading to the arrest of Guizar and Alvarez, Clavecilla said.
