Bay Area Restaurant Named Among 'The World's 50 Best'

HEALDSBURG, CA — Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, Copenhagen, Mexico City, São Paulo, Healdsburg.

These cities are home to at least one of the "The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2022," which were revealed Monday at a live awards ceremony in London.

SingleThread in Healdsburg was ranked No. 50 on the list. It is the only California restaurant and one of only three U.S. restaurants to make the list.

Here is what The World's 50 Best website has to say about the Sonoma County eatery: "Led by husband-and-wife team Kyle and Katina Connaughton – a chef and farmer respectively – SingleThread is a destination restaurant in Northern Californian wine country. The tasting menu begins with myriad small snacks and then moves through 10 further courses of kaiseki-style dining."

SingleThread called the achievement an "absolutely incredible moment of celebration."

"We are so incredibly proud to be on the @theworlds50best list and celebrate this amazing recognition of our team," SingleThread said on Instagram. "After a year marked with a pandemic that has challenged the entire restaurant community and a fire in our own kitchen this is an absolutely incredible moment of celebration. Thank you to all of our guests, supporters, artists and artisans, farmers, and most importantly the dedicated and passionate team that pours their heart, soul, and love into our home each and every day."

Joining the fine Healdsburg eatery on the U.S. list were two New York restaurants: Le Bernardin at No. 44 and Atomix at No. 33.
