This CA Restaurant Ranked Among 10 Best In North America
Nine other restaurants from the state were ranked among the top 50.
HEALDSBURG, CA — SingleThread in Healdsburg was recently ranked No. 8 on North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 and named The Best Restaurant in West USA as well as the recipient of the Sustainable Restaurant Award.
The inaugural ranking was determined by 300 industry experts and included 37 restaurants in the U.S., 11 in Canada and two in the Caribbean.
The top three were Atomix in New York at No. 1, Mon Lapin in Montreal at No. 2 and Restaurant Pearl Morissette in Lincoln, Ontario, at No. 3.

SingleThread is run by chef Kyle Connaughton and farmer Katina Connaughton, and features a Japanese-influenced tasting menu. In addition to being a restaurant, it includes a 24-acre farm and a five-bedroom hotel.
“By prioritizing seasonal, estate-grown ingredients and maintaining a closed-loop connection between its farm, kitchen and guest experience, SingleThread sets a global benchmark for sustainable fine dining,” according to a news release announcing the ranking.

SingleThread wasn’t the only Golden State restaurant honored. Nine others were ranked among the 50 restaurants on the list, and Michael Cimarusti, co-owner and chef of No. 47-ranked Providence in Los Angeles, received the Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice Award, the only accolade voted for solely by chefs.
