Healdsburg Fire Chars 11 Acres, Crosses U.S. Highway 101

HEALDSBURG, CA — A vegetation fire Monday north of Healdsburg spread to both sides of U.S. Highway 101 but was fully contained, authorities said.

Crews with Cal Fire, the Healdsburg Fire Department and Sonoma County Fire responded to the blaze that broke out shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 16900 block of Healdsburg Avenue in Geyserville.

The fire spread to 1 acre at 3:30 p.m., Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit reported.

A sig-alert was issued as the blaze caused the closure of both northbound and southbound lanes of the 101.

By 4:10 p.m., the Healdsburg Fire was 11 acres and 100 percent contained.

"Slow down and use caution in this area for firefighters and a traffic collision this is not part of the fire," Cal Fire said on Twitter.
