Downtown Healdsburg, Foss Creek May Flood, City Says
A flood advisory was issued for all of Sonoma County, with a flood warning also in effect for Central Sonoma County, including Healdsburg.

HEALDSBURG, CA — An atmospheric river continued to dump several inches of rain Thursday on Healdsburg and Sonoma County, causing localized flooding and prompting road closures.
"Further flooding is likely to occur around town as the rain continues, particularly near low-lying areas around Foss Creek and in the downtown area," the city said.
Thursday afternoon, Grove Street was closed from Foss Creek Circle to North Street and at Bridal Path between Spur Ridge and Saddle Draw. Larkspur Drive was also closed along with West North Street west of Grove; Allen Court and Moore Lane.

In Cloverdale, flooding was reported on Dutcher Creek Road between Theresa Drive and Kelly Road.
The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for all of Sonoma County until early Saturday morning.

A flood warning was also issued for parts of the county—including Healdsburg— until Friday afternoon.
The weather service said 3 and 13 inches of rain have fallen causing minor to moderate flooding Thursday at Green Valley Creek at Martinelli, Mark West Creek near Mirabel Heights, Maacama Creek near Kellogg, Santa Rosa Creek at Willowside, Colgan Creek near Sebastopol and Laguna de Santa Rosa near Stony Point. Additional rises were possible across the warned area.
The weather service said an additional 1.5 to 5.5 inches of rainfall was possible in the warned area. Some locations that will experience flooding include Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Healdsburg, Sebastopol, Cotati, Larkfield-Wikiup, Roseland, South Santa Rosa, Forestville, Guerneville and Graton.
Healdsburg city officials said more road closures were likely and urged drivers to adhere to road closure signs. The city warned drivers not to go around the signs or try to drive through standing water.
Sandbags are available at the Healdsburg Community Center. The city provides the sand and the bags and recommends that residents bring a shovel, gloves and a helper.
In Santa Rosa, where over 10 inches of rain fell since Tuesday, several major roads were closed due to ponding and flooding. The Santa Rosa Fire Department urged people to avoid traveling unless necessary.
According to the weather service, Wednesday was the second-wettest day on record in the city of Santa Rosa.

"Conditions may change through Saturday," the Santa Rosa Fire Department said. "Water may recede and then quickly rise following periods of heavy rainfall."
