Driver Arrested After Chase, Multiple Collisions In the Bay Area: Watch

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Santa Rosa police said a man driving a truck hit three parked cars before being arrested Thursday night.

No one was injured, police said.

Police arrested the driver, Eric Elias Gayosso, 33, of Santa Rosa, after a pursuit on city streets filmed from above by a Sonoma County Sheriff’s patrol helicopter.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, Gayosso was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and violating his probation.

The collisions happened near Stony Point Road and Hearn Avenue shortly before 9 p.m., police said in a statement.

Santa Rosa police arrived at the scene after a call from a driver, who had followed Gayosso's vehicle, described as a silver Chevy Silverado.

The driver told police that the truck hit multiple cars and was driving on a flat tire.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s patrol helicopter Henry 1 then followed Gayosso from the air, giving Santa Rosa police updates about the truck's location as it move through Santa Rosa streets.

The helicopter pilot reported at least one person jumping out of the truck.

Gayosso stopped for police near Rose and Burbank avenues.

Police said the vehicles hit were parked and only one had an occupant, who was not injured. Damage to the vehicles was minor, police said.
