Driver Sustains Major Injuries When Car Lands in Russian River
Arian Espinoza sustained multiple broken bones and facial injuries.

A Gualala man suffered major injuries this morning when his car went off the side of state Route 1 and landed in the Russian River in Jenner, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The CHP responded at 7:48 a.m. to a report of a vehicle over an embankment on Route 1 and in the water near Burke Drive, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.
Responders found a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse partially submerged in the water, Sloat said.
Monte Rio Fire Protection Chief Steve Baxman said the car was on its wheels in 1-2 feet of water when rescuers arrived. The man was pulled from the car and taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
The CHP identified the driver as 25-year-old Arian Espinoza. His condition was not immediately available this afternoon Baxman said Espinoza suffered multiple broken bones and facial injuries and was unable to provide much information.
Baxman said it's unknown how long the car was in the water at the mouth of the Russian River.
