Fight In Windsor Involves Multiple Juveniles: Police

WINDSOR - Police detained several juveniles Tuesday afternoon in Windsor after an alleged fight was reported.
According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, Windsor police officers responded to a report of a large fight in the area of Shira Street and Cornell Street at about 3:25 p.m.
Windsor police say the reporting party - believed one of the persons involved in the fight - had been struck with a baseball bat and may have been injured.

When Windsor officers arrived, they discovered a truck with extensive damage, including a smashed windshield. Police say a juvenile male, possibly involved with the fight, was also found.
Officers say they were told several other juveniles involved in the alleged fight had left on foot and in a vehicle before they arrived.

As Windsor police investigated, investigators say another witness called to report they were following a vehicle containing suspects from the alleged fight.
The witness followed the vehicle until it could be stopped on Airport Boulevard and Fulton Road by Windsor police officers and deputies from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, according to authorities.
Officers say they detained three of four subjects in the vehicle; a fourth subject who had an injury to his neck was transported to the hospital.
Police say a third phone call related to the alleged fight was then received from a person living on Dartmouth Way, a short distance from the original incident.
The caller reported a person suffering from an injury to his forearm had showed up at the residence and requested assistance, according to police.
Officers say they responded to the residence and found a juvenile male suffering from an injury to his forearm.
The juvenile was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Police say two others involved with the incident were located at the residence and detained.
According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, the injuries to the victims do not appear to be life threatening.
Detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit are investigating the incident, looking to see if any weapons were involved, and the motive behind the alleged fight.
