SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Firefighter Russell Griswold says goodbye to his two small children after he was dispatched to battle the Southern California wildfires.

The family lives in Santa Rosa. Griswold's wife, Sierra, took this photo.

Griswold is among over 140 Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit firefighters sent to join some 12,000 personnel, including firefighters, law enforcement and other emergency responders, on the front lines of historic wildfires in Southern California.
