Former Lake County Director Investigated On Child Porn Charges

LAKE COUNTY - The former Community Development Director for Lake County is under investigation for possession of child pornography, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Department.

In an online post, the Sheriff’s Office says two parallel investigations - including one by the FBI - prompted authorities to seize the computer of 47-year-old Richard James Coel of Lower Lake just before noon on Monday, March 14 at his residence in the 6000 block of Sunrise Drive.

Authorities are searching for evidence of child pornography on the computer in a forensic examination.
