From local fields to national fame, these stars got their start in Healdsburg.

Sports run deep in Healdsburg, and Healdsburg High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Greyhound uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Healdsburg High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
1. Anne Seppi – Hall Of Fame Tennis Player
A 1999 graduate, Seppi became Healdsburg’s most recent Hall of Fame tennis player, capturing league crowns in both singles and doubles along the way. She was also a three-time team MVP and a standout in multiple sports. (Source: Healdsburg Tribune)
2. Ralph Rose - Six-Time Olympic Medalist & Former Record Holder (Shot Put)
Another Greyhound turned Olympian, Rose was the Shot Put record holder multiple times in his career and finished his Olympic career with three Gold Medals, two Silver and one Bronze. (Source: Olympics.com, CBSR)

3. Sarah Sumpter - USTFCCCA All-American Honoree & Big-West Conference Athlete Of The Year (UC Davis)
A more recent graduate, Sumpter won the Division IV title her senior season, before continuing her running career at UC Davis, winning conference titles her senior year and was named to the USTFCCCA All-American Team and the Big West Conference Athlete of the Year. (Source: UCDavisAggies.com)
4. Dylan Hayman - Healdsburg Boys Basketball Points Record Holder
The most recent alum on the list, Hayman joined Healdsburg’s 1,000-point club in 2020 and finished as the team’s leading scorer in 2021. 5. Nathaniel Rowland – Defensive Player Of The Year
