Harmon Guest House Welcomes UPside Dance Company For April
The local SoCo dancers are artists in residence, marking the first time the property's rotating art series has featured performing artists.

HEALDSBURG, CA— Harmon Guest House has welcomed Healdsburg's UPside Dance Company as artists-in-residence for April as part of the downtown hotel's rotating art installation series.
The partnership is unique because it is the first time performing artists have been featured. Director Tanya Knippelmeir is holding scheduled, open rehearsals Saturdays and Sundays on the property throughout April, culminating in two live performances the final Sunday of the month.
"When Harmon Guest House began the art installation series, we hoped for the opportunity to feature art in all its formats, so we are thrilled to host Tanya and her incredible dancers at the property to demonstrate their craft for our guests and the community," said Circe Sher, co-founder of Piazza Hospitality, which developed and manages Harmon Guest House and its sister properties, Hotel Healdsburg and h2hotel. "The performances are sure to be stunning as Tanya plans to create site-specific choreography inspired by the architectural lines and diverse curated spaces here at Harmon Guest House."

Guests and community members can witness the dancers create, film and practice their innovative choreography in the hotel's Creekside park, parking lot and rooftop — creating an intimate and organic viewing experience.

Through April 27, open rehearsals are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. The special residency will culminate in two live performances Sunday, April 28. Audiences will be guided on a moving tour of dance throughout Harmon Guest House as dancers perform in surprising indoor and outdoor spaces with the finale to take place at The Rooftop at Harmon Guest House, the hotel’s sophisticated rooftop lounge, where guests can enjoy offering savory bites, refreshing cocktails and views of Fitch Mountain, the Sonoma Hills and downtown. Showtimes and tickets are now available on the UPside Dance website.

UPside Dance Company comprises professional dancers living in Sonoma County who bring their talent and worldwide dance experience to stages, streets and hillsides around Northern California.
Since its doors opened in 2018, Harmon Guest House has supported the arts with a permanent collection of commissioned art and rotating temporary exhibitions from emerging California artists showcased in the halls, the main stairwell and guest rooms. The pieces include sculpture, photography, works on paper, site-specific installations and wearable art, all referring to or addressing California art history or the immediate surroundings of Healdsburg. Harmon Guest House rotates the work of local artists several times a year and invites featured artists to explore the property and create site-specific installations that reflect Sonoma County.
Harmon Guest House is also an ideal home base for an active and modern wine-country getaway. The property features adjoining rooms, allowing guests to connect with friends and family in suites and studio-style king rooms for a more intimate stay. Named after Healdsburg's founder, Harmon Heald, Harmon Guest House honors its namesake's pioneering spirit of creative urban planning by featuring thoughtful spaces that encourage friends and families to gather —just as Harmon Heald envisioned the plaza as a central gathering place for residents.
