Healdsburg Man Sentenced To Jail For Assaulting Cops

A Healdsburg man has been sentenced to a year in Sonoma County Jail for assaulting police officers who were serving an arrest warrant.

HEALDSBURG, CA -- A Healdsburg man was sentenced this week to a year in the Sonoma County Jail for assaulting Healdsburg police officers in December.

David Robert Brewer, 36, was convicted of misdemeanor battery, battery on a police officer and resisting a police officer, the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office said.

Healdsburg police officers were trying to serve Brewer an arrest warrant at his home on Dec. 30. Brewer assaulted his brother when he tried to bring him to the front door. Brewer then kicked the officers.

The officers suffered minor injuries and the incident was captured on the officers' body cameras, according to the prosecution.

Brewer also was sentenced to three years probation and was ordered to take anger management classes.
