Mass Casualty Drill Held At Sonoma County Airport
Sixteen emergency response agencies were slated to participate in Wednesday's drill.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Emergency responders were scheduled to conduct a mass casualty drill involving a simulated plane crash at the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport Wednesday morning. The Rincon Valley Fire Protection District, the airport's staff and local first responders are participating in the unrehearsed drill between 10 a.m. and noon.
The training is mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration every three years. The drill includes extrication and rescue, aircraft fire and hazard mitigation, a focus on passenger rescue, emergency medical
intervention and fire suppression.
Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and Petaluma Valley Hospital will be accepting 40-50 simulated patients.
