Petaluma School Counselor Arrested For Sex Crime Against A Child: SCSO
Sonoma County sheriff's deputies arrested a counselor in a Petaluma school for sexually abusing a child under 14.
PETALUMA, CA — Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested a school counselor after receiving a report that he was involved in a sex crime against child at the Cinnabar Elementary School in Petaluma.
Detectives from the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Unit arrested John Conant, a 66-year-old resident of Sebastopol, on Sunday, according to Sgt. Juan Valencia
He was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on charges of committing lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, Valencia said. His bail was set at $250,000.

Because Conant is a school counselor, investigators said they have reason to believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward and are releasing the information along with Conant's booking photo.
