Tax Hikes, School Bonds, Sonoma Farms: Healdsburg Election Results
Voters have had their say on Healdsburg Measures O and R, City Council, School Board and more local races.

HEALDSBURG, CA — Did Healdsburg voters approve a $49.5 million school bond issue? How about the Sonoma County measures? Who won the Healdsburg City Council and school board races?
Early election night results showed that the Sonoma County Measure I Child Care and Children’s Health Tax was passing with 60.84 percent of votes (83,586 votes).
Meanwhile, Measure J, the controversial ballot question that sought to regulate large farms, was failing, with only 14.71 percent of voters in favor and 85.29 percent against it.

Healdsburg's Measure R, which asked voters to approve $49.5 million in bonds for school improvements, appeared to be passing late Tuesday night with 62.44 percent of voters in favor.
Healdsburg's Measure O, which sought to amend the city's growth ordinance, appeared to be failing, with 40.89 percent of voters in favor of the measure and 59.11 against it. This was according to unofficial election night results that did not include a final tally of votes.

The race for three Healdsburg City Council seats was close. As of 11:22 p.m. Tuesday, Ron Edwards had 25.22 percent of votes, Ariel Kelley had 24.83 percent and David Hagele had 23.98 percent. Hannan-Kramer was next with 14.92 percent and Linda Cade was trailing with 11.06 percent.
In the race for three seats on the Healdsburg Unified School District governing board, Donna Del Rey had 21.12 percent of votes, Rose McAllister had 28.65 percent, Judy Velasquez had 26.91 percent, Danielle Rae Kucera had 7.73 percent and Skyler Osborn had 15.59 percent.

As of September, the California Secretary of State reported that 22,310,352 Californians were registered to vote, which accounts for almost 82.92 percent of the state's eligible voting population.
In Sonoma County, 304,906 Sonoma County residents registered to vote—over 86 percent of all eligible voters— as of Sept. 6. Of those registered, 56.8 percent were Democrats, and 18.36 percent were Republicans, a slight rise from 17.48 percent in 2022.
Sonoma County has the fifth-highest percentage of Democrats in the state, behind San Francisco, Marin, Santa Cruz and Alameda counties.
