Report Of Man With Gun At Windsor School Unfounded: Sonoma Sheriff
The report prompted a lockdown Friday at the Windsor Middle School campus as authorities searched for a man with a gun.

WINDSOR, CA — A report Friday of a man with a gun near a Windsor school prompted a campus lockdown while authorities searched the area, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said.
Around 9:50 a.m. Friday, a citizen reported what they believed to be a man with a gun standing near Windsor Middle School at Brooks Road and Arata Lane, sheriff's Spokesperson Rob Dillion said.
Deputies responded within three minutes and worked to find the man for approximately two hours before it was determined the report was unfounded, Dillion said in a news release.

Windsor Middle School was placed on lockdown during the investigation to ensure students and staff at the campus at 9500 Brooks Road South were safe, Dillion said.
At 12:37 p.m., the sheriff's office reported the lockdown was lifted and no threat was found.

Classes remained in session for the remainder of the school day, however, parents were able to pick up their children if they chose to do so.
