Sonoma officers say after an examination, the bomb squad tech determined it was unlikely the box contained any dangerous materials.

The package contained chocolate chip candy, sheriff’s Sgt. Cecile Focha said.

Authorities say bomb squad technicians then neutralized the package using a water shot.

Though the incident was a false alarm, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office says it is grateful for the person who reported the suspicious package, and reminds residents to remain vigilant.

Sheriff’s officers say the entire incident was successfully resolved within an hour.
