Man Beaten By E-Bikers Near Hermosa Beach Pier In Viral Video: Police Look To Public For Answers

One person was injured in the Friday assault, the Hermosa Beach Police Department confirmed.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Police are looking to the public for help in their investigation of a felony assault, Hermosa Beach officers announced Sunday.

Officers arrived “within minutes” of an assault on Friday, and an injured person was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to police.

Police said they launched an investigation and are aware of videos of the incident circulating online. Though the department is asking for the public's help, officials did not release details about the attack.

Ryan Walker, the city's public information officer, declined to offer additional information about the situation, saying what police provided "is the extent of the information currently available."

Multiple surveillance videos that captured the incident show a man being attacked by a group of people in an alley about a block from the pier, FOX 11 News reported. The group then fled on e-bikes, the TV station reported.

Police discouraged posting videos or images of the suspects publicly, saying it “may impede investigative efforts and hinder the apprehension of those involved."

“As this remains an active and ongoing investigation, no additional details are available at this time,” police said.
