Major Roads To Be Shut Down So Pedestrians, Bicyclists Can 'Meet The Hollywoods'

The latest CicLAvia event takes place this weekend, when several major roads will be shut down in Central Los Angeles.

HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” Often filled with bumper-to-bumper traffic, three major thoroughfares in Central Los Angeles will be overtaken by bicyclists and pedestrians as part of the latest CicLAvia event, "Meet the Hollywoods" on Sunday.

Since 2010, CicLAvia events have seen stretches of Los Angeles streets closed to cars for one day, when pedestrians, cyclists and skateboarders are allowed to take over spaces usually dominated by motorists.

The 6.6-mile route for Sunday's event runs between the start of Hollywood Boulevard in East Hollywood near Los Feliz, south on Highland Avenue, and west on Santa Monica Boulevard to its intersection with San Vicente Boulevard in West Hollywood.
