Fire Breaks Out At Hollywood Hills Apartment Building

Smoke from the fire billowed through two floors at the four story apartment complex.

HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” An apartment fire broke out in the Hollywood Hills Tuesday night, filling hallways of the building with smoke before firefighters were able to extinguish it.

The fire was reported around 5:56 p.m. at 1950 N Tamarind Ave., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Flames sprung up in one unit at the four-story building, and smoke billowed through the second and third floor, which was under construction.

"Residents sheltered in place within their living quarters to avoid coming in contact with the smoke and potentially toxic byproducts of combustion," said Nicholas Prange of the LAFD.
