The telecast of last year's awards show, organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), was canceled due to an uproar over HFPA’s ethical lapses and lack of diversity. However, with a commitment to ongoing change and restructuring, HFPA’s awards-season fixture is back both live-streaming and on broadcast television for its 80th edition hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
