HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” Mel's Drive-In's location at Hollywood and Highland officially returned Wednesday, joining the Hollywood Museum with a long-delayed reopening in the wake of the pandemic. Mel's had been closed for a year and a half due to coronavirus-mandated closures.

The restaurant paid homage to the Hollywood Museum with the "Hollywood Museum burger," which includes two patties, grilled onions, tomatoes and secret sauce.

"Mel's Drive-in Hollywood and Highland is having a Grand Re-Opening August 4th," the restaurant said at the time of the announcement last week. "It will be finally open after a year and a half closed from the pandemic! It's a real Hollywood comeback story. We are so happy to open our doors once again to all our great customers!"
