Power Outage At LA Hospital Prompts Mass Cancelation Of Appointments

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A power outage at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Wednesday prompted the facility to cancel all outpatient clinic appointments for the rest of the day.

The outage was reported at around 10:54 a.m., when the hospital experienced a loss of power at its Sunset Boulevard campus, CHLA said.

"Due to ongoing power issues impacting operations, all outpatient clinic appointments at the main hospital location are canceled for the rest of the day," reads a statement from the hospital.

Officials said appointments will be rescheduled.

The hospital did not indicate the source of the outage or how long it was expected to last.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was not reporting any outages Wednesday afternoon in the Hollywood area, according to its outage map.
