HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” The 96th Academy Awards were announced Tuesday morning by presenters Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid. After an arduous year in the film industry marred by strikes and stoppages, the award announcements highlight the brilliant films released in 2023.

"Oppenheimer" reigned supreme with 13 Oscar nominations, including Cillian Murphy in the best actor category and a nomination for Best Picture. "Barbie" was close behind with 8 Oscar nominations including America Ferrara in the best supporting actress category. However, "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig was snubbed in her category.

Other films such as "Killers of the Flower Moon", "American Fiction", "The Holdovers" and "Anatomy of a Fall "received several nominations. The 96th Academy Awards will air on March 10th at 7 p.m. E.T. on ABC.
