- Today you are invited to join the City “in celebrating the new playground equipment at Glen View Park.” The event is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Improvements “include a new custom play structure, swings and rubber play surface. New sidewalks were added for enhanced accessibility.” (City of HB)
- Saturday’s cleanup at Bartlett Park was a huge success! Sponsored by the city, “local residents came to help beautify the passive park behind the historic Newland House Museum.” Volunteers brought their own gloves, reusable water bottles, and buckets. At the end of the event, several dumpsters were filled. According to the Public Works Department, the attendees “collected over 1,500 pounds of trash.” (HB News)
- Sahara Sandbar & Pizza on Magnolia will open on Saturday. “The fun fact about this particular location of Huntington State Beach is that it happens to be the widest gap of sand on the Western hemisphere,” the owner said when explaining how the name came to be. That said, the eatery had a soft opening on 4-20 at 4:20 p.m. that went on until the pizza ran out. (OCR/paywall, Sahara Sandbar)
- Do you want to participate in an NFT giveaway? Does free food sound good? Then plan to attend the HB cleanup event on Main Street and PCH Sunday. It runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you can’t make it, you can clean up somewhere else, post before and after pictures, and still participate in a raffle for NFTs. (Hungry Hippos)
- If you’re thirsty for a beer, and of age, there’s an app. The Surf City USA Barrel Trail introduces you to “12 craft breweries, distilleries and tasting rooms with exclusive discounts and offers in Huntington Beach.” Besides that, you could “earn prizes as you check in to each participating location with the unique four-digit code.” However, you have to finish by April 30!
