7-Foot Waves Possible In Dana Point This Weekend: Surf Advisory

The surf advisory comes after a winter storm hit the SoCal region. What to know.

DANA POINT, CA — Look out, Dana Point: high surf is forecasted for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, Dana Point residents can expect large breaking waves of four to seven feet in Orange County.

The surf advisory is in place from 4 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday.

"Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion are possible," an NWS statement read. "Minor flooding is possible in low-lying areas along the beach, such as beach parking lots."

Inexperienced swimmers were urged to stay out of the water due to the dangerous surf conditions.
