How Much Rain Did Dana Point Get During This Week's Showers?
The heaviest rainfall was concentrated in Orange County mountain communities, according to Orange County Public Works.
DANA POINT, CA — After rain and gloomy weather made a return to Orange County this week, residents can expect the winter weather to stick around until Wednesday.
Across the county, most Orange County cities saw between .5 inches to two inches of rain over the last three days, the National Weather Service reported.
Orange County mountain communities saw the most rain, with Upper Harding Canyon reaching 2.09 inches of rain.

Here's a look at rainfall counts across Orange County over the last five days:
- Seal Beach reported .89 inches of rain at the Seal Beach Pump Station.
- Rancho Santa Margarita reported 1.49 inches of rain in Coto de Caza, and 1.93 inches of rain in Holy Jim Canyon.
- Laguna Beach reported 1.02 inches of rain at the Laguna Coastal Watershed.
- Mission Viejo also reported 1.03 inches of rain at the Aliso Creek Watershed.
- Newport Beach reported .84 inches of rain at the Newport Bay Watershed, Corona del Mar received .79 inches of rain.
- Lake Forest reported 1.10 inches of rain at the Bee Canyon Watershed.
- Laguna Niguel reported .99 inches of rain at Laguna Niguel Park.
- Dana Point reported .87 inches of rain at the Dana Point Ocean Institute.

The return of rain also prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Watch Advisory until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Residents should be prepared for flooding caused by excessive rainfall in poor drainage and urban areas, the NWS said.
Residents should stay out of all flood channels and be alert in the mountains for rockslides or mudslides.
