How Much Rain Did Dana Point Get: Rainfall Totals For Jan. 2024 Storm

DANA POINT, CA — After rain and gloomy weather passed over Orange County roadways and neighborhoods to kick off a very wet new year, the clouds have begun to part — for now.

Across the county, most Orange County cities saw between .43 and 2.44 inches of rain, the National Weather Service reported.

Orange County mountain communities saw the most rain, with Santiago Peak reaching 5.24 inches of rain and Upper Harding Canyon reporting 2.64 inches of rain.

Here's a look at rainfall counts across Orange County:

• Seal Beach reported 1.45 inches of rain at the Seal Beach Pump Station.
• Rancho Santa Margarita reported 2.44 inches of rain in Coto de Caza, and 2.05 inches of rain in Holy Jim Canyon.
• Laguna Beach reported 1.70 inches of rain at the Laguna Coastal Watershed.
• Mission Viejo also reported 1.66 inches of rain at the Aliso Creek Watershed.
• Newport Beach reported 1.54 inches of rain at the Newport Bay Watershed.
• Lake Forest reported between 1.93 inches and 1.46 inches of rain between the Bee Canyon Watershed and the Sand Canyon Watershed, respectively.
• Laguna Niguel reported 1.85 inches of rain at the San Juan Creek Watershed.
• Dana Point reported 1.73 inches of rain at the Dana Point Ocean Institute.
