Orange County residents should prepare for cooler weather and a varying chance of rain this week, according to the National Weather Service.

DANA POINT, CA — Bring in the patio furniture, Dana Point — rain showers are likely to return to Orange County as a part of an ongoing cooling trend, according to the National Weather Service.

Dana Point residents can expect the rain to start Wednesday afternoon. In addition, residents can expect cloudy skies, temperatures ranging from 61 to 64 degrees, and light winds up to 10 miles per hour.

The rain will continue into Wednesday evening with a slight chance of thunderstorms overnight, weather officials said. In addition, temperatures will range from 45 to 48 degrees, and winds will blow 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 miles per hour.

On Thursday, residents can expect cloudy skies with more rain — with a chance of thunderstorms following into the afternoon. Cool temperatures will continue, with winds up to 35 miles per hour in some areas.

The rain will likely continue into Thursday night, as will the chance of thunderstorms, the National Weather Service said.
