Scorching Temperatures To Hit Dana Point: Cooling Centers In OC

Temperatures in Orange County are expected to reach past 100 degrees this week. Here's where to stay cool in Dana Point.

DANA POINT, CA —Another sweltering heat wave is headed to Orange County, and residents can expect scorching temperatures in Dana Point.

The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Wednesday through Friday for all Orange County cities, including Dana Point.

In Newport Beach, residents can expect temperatures to climb up to the mid-90s by Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Throughout the weekend, temperatures are expected to remain high on the coast. Coastal residents can expect temperatures ranging from the high 80s to the high 90s, the NWS reported.

  • Thursday — Mostly sunny, with highs around 96 toward the coast and 101 to 104 farther inland with light winds.
  • Friday — Mostly sunny and hot, with highs around 96 near the coast and 102 to 105 farther inland.
  • Saturday — Partly cloudy in the morning becoming mostly sunny, with highs between 91 and 94 near the coast and 100 degrees farther inland.
