6-Vehicle Crash On I-215 Leaves 3 People Injured

The victims were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.

PERRIS, CA — Three people were injured Monday in a six-vehicle wreck on Interstate 215 in Perris.

The crash was reported at 4:12 p.m. on southbound I-215 at Highway 74, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said the vehicles impacted in the fast lane and the No. 2 lane of the freeway, causing one car to overturn and face the wrong way in traffic.

No other details were immediately available.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location within 15 minutes and found the occupant of the overturned car trapped, requiring firefighters to deploy industrial equipment to free the victim, who suffered unspecified minor to moderate injuries, according to reports from the scene.

Two other people also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
