Homicide Investigation Underway, 1 Arrested After RivCo Altercation

One person died at the scene of a fight that broke out early Sunday in Mead Valley.

MEAD VALLEY, CA — One person was arrested early Sunday in Mead Valley on suspicion of killing a Mead Valley man, Perris Sheriff's Station homicide investigators say.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m., deputies arrived in the 19000 block of Day Street in Mead Valley on reports of a fight, according to Sgt. Alberto Loureiro. One man was found suffering from an unidentified trauma to his lower extremities and died at the scene.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but he succumbed to the extensive injuries at the scene, Loureiro said. The coroner's bureau was called to the scene, and the identity of the Mead Valley man was not released pending notification of his next of kin. The nature of the man's injuries was not immediately disclosed.
