Lake Elsinore House Fire Displaces Family, Sparks $300,000 In Damages

Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters raced to the scene, where numerous 911 callers reported smoke rising from a Lake Elsinore home.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A Lake Elsinore home caught fire Sunday afternoon, displacing the residents, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The fire began in the 100 block of South Ralph Road at about 5:15 p.m., drawing fire crews immediately to the scene.

"Multiple 911 callers reported the blaze, which began under the carport roof, on the side of the house, according to Cal Fire spokesperson Maggie Cline De La Rosa. The fire quickly spread into the attic, where firefighters managed to douse the blaze about an hour later.

Southern California Edison repair crews were also called in, according to Cal Fire.

The residents were home at the time of the fire, and fled the scene, unharmed. However, there was no request for Red Cross assistance, De La Rosa told Patch. "The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. The fire caused an estimated $300,000 in property damage at the residence."
