Motorcycle Crash Turns Fatal On Railroad Canyon Road: Sheriff
Roads were closed much of Tuesday in the fatal Lake Elsinore motorcycle crash that involved an off-duty firefighter.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — An off-duty firefighter is believed to have been killed in a Lake Elsinore Railroad Canyon crash Tuesday, according to CHP dispatch statements.
At 12:15 p.m., Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Department deputies arrived at Railroad Canyon Road and Church Street regarding a collision involving a single motorcyclist, Lt. Deirdre Vickers said. "Upon arrival, deputies located the collision and the motorcyclist in the roadway."
The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim's identity has yet to be released, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation..

During the crash, deputies announced a road closure in both directions at Railroad Canyon Road.
Little has been released about the incident. However, CHP dispatch stated a traffic break would be initiated along Newport Road due to a procession for the crash victim.

Due to the investigation at the scene, the Lake Elsinore road closure would extend from Railroad Canyon Road and Grape Street through Railroad Canyon Road and Tassel Way for much of Tuesday. Sections of Newport at Scott Road were also closed intermittently throughout the day.
