Lake Elsinore Woman Accused Of Stealing Child's Birthday Present

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A 25-year-old Lake Elsinore woman suspected of stealing a child's birthday present was arrested, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported.

Cindy Cline was taken into custody Friday, July 12, and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of theft and outstanding warrants, the department reported.

The investigation began the previous day when Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station deputies looked into a social media post that alleged a child's electric motorcycle was stolen from the 32000 block of Meadow Wood Lane in Lake Elsinore.

"Deputies learned the electric bike was a birthday present the parents had just purchased," according to the sheriff's department.

Cline was identified as the suspect, though it's not clear how. A search warrant was served Friday at a residence in the 100 block of Plaza Valenza in Lake Elsinore. The department reported that the stolen motorcycle and Cline were at the home.

Following Cline's arrest, the motorcycle was returned to the family, according to the sheriff's department.
