LAPD Motorcycle Officer Injured In 91 Freeway Crash In Corona

The crash was reported on the eastbound side of the freeway, east of Green River Road.

CORONA, CA — A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was involved in a crash Tuesday on the Riverside (91) Freeway in the Corona area.

The crash was reported at 12:13 p.m. on the eastbound Riverside Freeway east of Green River Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A witness told the CHP the motorcycle officer was struck and fell in the traffic lanes, while the motorcycle continued on its own, hit another vehicle and then crashed into a right-shoulder wall.

The extent of the officer's injuries was not immediately available, but a witness said the officer was up, walking and holding his right side following the crash.

LAPD officials told the CHP that it would send its own tow truck to retrieve the motorcycle.
