Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed In Ortega Highway Crash
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on state Route 74 Sunday, prompting the partial closure of the highway west of Lake Elsinore.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on state Route 74 Sunday, prompting the partial closure of the highway west of Lake Elsinore.
Mark Gray, 45, of Huntington Beach was pronounced dead at the scene just after 9:30 a.m., about a mile east of Decker Canyon Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the motorcyclist slammed into a guardrail just after 9 a.m. on the eastbound lane.

Cal Fire/Riverside County fire officials said the motorcycle ended up 65 feet over the side of the roadway.
Eastbound SR-74 was shut down temporarily at the crash site.

The CHP investigation into the crash was continuing Monday.
