Truck Overturns On The Ortega Highway

LAKE ELSINORE, CA -- A driver escaped injury Tuesday after his truck overturned on a Lake Elsinore-area highway. The incident was reported at 11:05 a.m. on state Route 74 near Briggs Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The male driver was traveling westbound on the highway at 40 miles per hour when his truck drifted off the roadway, colliding into a tree before overturning, said CHP Officer Mike Lassig.
The 2005 Dodge pickup truck came to a rest on the westbound side of the highway, while the driver, who wore his seatbelt, was uninjured, Lassig said.

Both lanes of the highway were blocked as of 11:50 a.m. following the incident.
