Among the openings are rural carrier associate and assistant rural carrier positions. The jobs entail providing mail delivery and pickup service to customers in rural and suburban communities. Detailed descriptions of rural carrier associate and assistant rural carrier jobs are available online via the USPS portal.

"The available positions, which offer starting pay of $20.38 an hour, are ideal for candidates who enjoy being active and working independently outdoors with occasional customer service interactions and are a first step that could lead to long-term careers for the Postal Service," according to the USPS.
