2020 Presidential Candidate Tulsi Gabbard Speaking In Livermore
Gabbard is a veteran, long-time Hawaii congressperson and 2020 presidential candidate who left the Democratic party.

LIVERMORE, CA — Tulsi Gabbard, a veteran and congressperson from Hawaii who ran for president in 2020, will speak at the Bankhead Theater June 18 in an event sponsored by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
Gabbard grew up in Hawaii and was elected to the Hawaii State Legislature at 21. During her time in the legislature, she enlisted with the Hawaii Army National Guard, and served numerous deployments in Iraq and Kuwait. She is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, commanding the 440th Civil Affairs Battalion.
She served on the Honolulu City Council from 2011 to 2012, and as the representative from Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district, the area around Honolulu, from 2012 to 2021, where she was the first Samoan-American woman to become a voting member of Congress. From 2013-16, she served as vice chair of the Democratic National Committee. She ran for president in 2020 as a Democratic candidate. Since then, she has re-registered as an independent who has spoken at CPAC, comments on Fox News, and has even been named as a potential running mate for Donald Trump in 2024.

Since her campaign, she has formed a nonprofit called “We Must Protect” to help Maui recover from the devastating 2023 wildfires. She just published a book “For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind.”
