Hot Weather Predicted For Tri-Valley, Red Flag Warning Issued Nearby

Temperatures could climb to the 90s this week, and towns further inland are at an enhanced fire risk.

TRI-VALLEY — The Tri-Valley and much of California are preparing for Memorial Day and the start of summer with higher than average temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 80s throughout the Tri-Valley on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before lowering to the mid-70s for the rest of the week. The National Weather Service also said there is a 41% chance of highs reaching past 90 degrees in Livermore on Wednesday.

Nearby, a Red Flag Warning is in effect through 8 p.m. Monday across the Sacramento Valley, northern San Joaquin Valley, and the interior East Bay. Winds of 15 to 25 mph, and gusts of up to 35 mph are combining with temperatures in the 80s and humidity levels of just 15 to 25%, leading to heightened fire risk. The risk zone stretches into the Diablo Range foothills and cities like Vacaville, Brentwood, and Antioch.

Winds in the Tri-Valley are expected to be lower much of the week, though gusts are expected to reach as high as 25 mph in some spots Monday night.
