Authorities ID Man Killed In North Long Beach Motorcycle Crash

Detectives investigating the crash believe the man may have been speeding when he lost control of the motorcycle, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA – A man who died when he crashed a motorcycle in North Long Beach earlier this month has been identified.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 55-year-old Long Beach resident Richard Perez.

Police say Perez was riding a motorcycle around 5:10 p.m. on March 8 in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and 51st Street when he lost control, fell, and crashed into a parked car.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel rendered aid at the scene and then took him to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

Detectives investigating the crash believe Perez may have been speeding when he lost control of the motorcycle, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
