LONG BEACH, CA — When people think of California's Hollywood-esque neighborhoods, Long Beach may not be the first to come to mind.
However, “before Hollywood, Long Beach was the epicenter of the early film industry,” and that has continued to well into the current era of film-making, SF Gate reported.
Nestled in Los Cerritos, which stood in for "anyplace, USA,” are homes that were featured in the cult classics “Ferris Bueller's Day Off,” “Donnie Darko” and “American Pie,” all of which are within a half mile of one another, the newest outlet reported.

“Shaded by leafy trees and paved with wide roads, the neighborhood features Spanish Colonial estates alongside Tudor mansions, midcentury homes and a variety of other architectural styles,” SF Gate reported.
