Woman Dies Weeks After Hit-And-Run In Long Beach: Police Look To Public For Answers

The woman has been identified as a 46-year-old Long Beach resident, police say.

LONG BEACH, CA — A Long Beach woman died weeks after being struck in a hit-and-run, and now Long Beach police are looking to the public for answers.

Officers were notified of the woman’s death on Tuesday, police announced, adding that she has been identified as 46-year-old Brandy Jackson.

Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a person and a car near Pacific Coast Highway and Maine Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, police said.

By the time officers arrived, Long Beach fire officials were taking Jackson to a hospital.

Initial investigation showed that a car hit Jackson in the roadway, then the driver fled, according to police.

Police said they are working to determine a suspect and suspect vehicle.
