18 Vehicles Get Flat Tires, Car Damage From Debris On Major LA County Freeway Friday
Tire carnage struck a major Los Angeles County freeway Friday morning.
Some 18 vehicles were damaged early Friday morning after running over debris scattered across the 60 Freeway in the San Gabriel Valley, according to a report.
The tire carnage began at around 3:25 a.m. on the freeway near Diamond Bar Boulevard when drivers began reporting a large metal object in the middle lanes, KTLA reported.
At least 18 vehicles, including a big rig, struck the debris. That caused multiple flat tires; one vehicle had its oil pan punctured, according to the report.

Responding California Highway Patrol Officers determined the debris was a vehicle's driveshaft. They moved the item off the freeway.
Video aired by KTLA shows several vehicles pulled over on the freeway shoulder with flat tires and flashing hazard lights.

The incident caused delays for early-morning commuters as tow crews worked to clear the disabled vehicles and cleanup spilled oil in the road.
