LOS ANGELES, CA — Two people and two dogs were rescued from the storm-swollen Los Angeles River Tuesday morning amid torrential rain.
Firefighters first responded to a portion of the river in the San Fernando Valley's Sepulveda Basin before 10 a.m. The Los Angeles Fire Department's initial report said that a 30-year-old woman with two dogs was stuck on a "platform" in the river.
The woman and two dogs were rescued from the platform, as well as a 45-year-old man. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of "mild cold exposure," according to the LAFD.
