Is the hot dog a home run or did it strike out? The Los Angeles Times recently weighed in with its 2025 stadium food ranking.

LOS ANGELES — The biggest showstopper on the menu at Dodger Stadium this year may be a $40 hot dog.

The Los Angeles Times included the 16-inch sausage — named The Slugger and served in a comparatively normal-sized bun — in its recent roundup of the best new foods at the ballpark for 2025.

In addition to an enormous jalapeño-cheddar sausage, The Slugger includes cheese sauce, corn relish, tortilla strips and cilantro cream, the Times reported, plus two piles of fries. It is sold by Think Blue BBQ for a whopping $39.99 and comes in a cardboard carrying case, according to the newspaper.

“There is no graceful way to eat this, and the bun will collapse under the immense weight of the toppings,” reported the Times, which ranked the big dog sixth out of nine new menu items due to logistical issues. “But the sausage is taut and blistered, full of melted cheddar with a punch of heat from the jalapeño.”

Other culinary hits at the park include the pastrami burger by Fan Fare for $19.99, the sweet bread sundae by 7th Inning Sweets for $13.99 and the chicken katsu club by Delicious Hospitality for $20.99, according to the newspaper.
